These Terms of Use govern your use of home-gym-shop.com and every purchase you make from us. They are written in plain language, because you should not need a lawyer to buy a pair of dumbbells. By using this site or placing an order you agree to them. Last updated: August 11, 2026.
Who we are
Home Gym Shop is an independent online retailer of compact home gym equipment, shipping to the United States and Canada. All prices on this site are in US dollars. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Home Gym Shop; “you” means the person using the site or placing the order. You can reach us at support@home-gym-shop.com or through our contact form.
Who may use the site
You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order or create an account — and you must be able to enter into a binding contract. Anyone younger is welcome to read the site and the guides, but should have a parent or guardian order for them. We ship to addresses in the United States and Canada only, and by ordering you confirm your delivery address is in one of those countries.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you place your order is the version that applies to that order — a later change never reaches backwards. When we make a material change we update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version for future orders.
Your account
You do not need an account to buy from us. If you create one, keep your password confidential and treat activity under it as your own — tell us at support@home-gym-shop.com if you think it has been used without your permission and we will help you secure it. Give accurate details and keep them current; we cannot deliver to an address that does not exist. You can close your account at any time by asking us.
Acceptable use
Use the site to read about, choose and buy equipment. Please do not:
- break any law, or use the site to help anyone else do so;
- place orders you do not intend to pay for, or use a payment method that is not yours;
- scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download the site, or use automated tools against it beyond ordinary search-engine indexing;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, any account, or the systems behind them, or probe them for weaknesses;
- upload anything malicious, or deliberately overload or disrupt the site;
- copy our text, photography or page designs to republish them as your own;
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection to us;
- abuse our staff. Support is a person, and they get to be treated like one.
If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@home-gym-shop.com before telling anyone else. We will not pursue you for reporting something you found in good faith and did not exploit.
Orders and order acceptance
When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. We accept that offer when we send your dispatch confirmation — not when you pay, and not when the automatic order-received email arrives. Before dispatch we may decline or cancel an order — for example if an item is unavailable, we cannot verify the payment, the delivery address is outside the US or Canada, a listing contains an error, or the order looks fraudulent or is for resale. If we cancel, you receive a full refund to your original payment method.
Pricing and listing errors
We check our listings, but mistakes happen. If a product is listed at an incorrect price or with an incorrect specification because of a typographical or technical error, we may cancel the affected order and refund you in full, even after an order confirmation has been sent. Where possible we email you the correction first so you can decide whether to keep the order. Prices can change at any time, but never after you have placed an order.
Payment
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. Your card is charged when you place your order. Prices are in US dollars; if you pay with a Canadian card, your bank sets the conversion rate and any foreign transaction fee, and neither is ours to control. Sales tax, where it applies, is shown at checkout before you pay. We do not add duty, brokerage or handling fees on delivery — see our Shipping Policy for what to do in the unlikely event a carrier asks you for one.
Promotional codes and the 15% welcome offer
When you join our email list we send you a single-use code for 15% off your first order, once you confirm your subscription by clicking the link we email you. These are its terms, and they are enforced automatically at checkout rather than argued about afterwards:
- One code per email address, ever.
- Single use — it applies to one order and is then spent.
- Valid for 30 days from the day it is issued.
- Tied to the email address that subscribed, so it must be used on an order placed with that address.
- Cannot be combined with any other code or offer.
- Not valid on items that are already reduced.
- No cash value, and it cannot be exchanged, sold or transferred.
If an order paid for with a code is refunded, the refund is of the amount you actually paid; a single-use code that has been spent is not reissued. We may withdraw or change the welcome offer for future subscribers at any time, but never for a code already in your hands and still in date. We may cancel a code, and any order placed with it, where it has been obtained through automated signups, addresses that are not yours, or other abuse.
Shipping and delivery estimates
Shipping is free on every order to the US and Canada, with no minimum and no flat rate. Orders are made and dispatched by our overseas manufacturing and fulfillment partners: processing takes 1–3 business days and transit takes 7–14 business days, so most orders arrive 8–17 business days after they are placed. Delivery windows are estimates, not promises. Carrier delays, customs checks and peak-season volume can add time and are outside our control. By completing checkout you confirm that you understand and accept these windows: 1–3 business days of processing plus 7–14 business days of transit. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers to your address — but if a parcel goes missing in transit, that is ours to sort out, not yours.
Cancellations, returns and refunds
- Cancellations: you can cancel for a full refund at any point before dispatch. Processing takes 1–3 business days, so email support@home-gym-shop.com with your order number as soon as possible. Once an order has shipped it cannot be cancelled — but you can return it.
- Returns: eligible items can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, with no restocking fee. Conditions and exclusions are on the Returns page.
- Refunds: all refunds are issued through Stripe to the payment method used at checkout, within 3 business days of us receiving the return.
The 30-day return window is the cover we offer, and it is deliberately the only one. We would rather publish a single commitment we honor without argument than a longer list with conditions attached. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be limited by contract.
Product descriptions and images
We write our own category and product copy and we publish stored dimensions, in-use dimensions and rated capacity where they apply. Product images and manufacturer specifications are supplied to us and are subject to change. Colours vary between screens. Where a specification matters to your decision — whether something clears a bed frame, fits a door, or holds your weight — go by the number on the product page, and email us if it is not there. If a product arrives materially different from its description, that is a return we cover in full.
Reviews and anything else you submit
If you submit a review, a photo, a question or any other content, you keep ownership of it. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, store, reproduce and adapt it for the purpose of running and promoting the store, including in email and social posts, and that licence continues for content we have already published if you later close your account. You confirm the content is yours to give, is your honest opinion, and does not infringe anyone’s rights or contain anything unlawful.
We do not pay for reviews, incentivise them, or edit them to be kinder. We may decline or remove content that is unlawful, abusive, off-topic, contains personal information, or is not from a real customer — but we do not remove a review for being negative. You can ask us to take down something you wrote at any time. We are not obliged to monitor submissions, and publishing something is not an endorsement of it.
Using exercise equipment safely
Exercise equipment carries inherent risk, and how it is assembled and used is in your hands, not ours. By buying from us you accept responsibility for using our products safely. In particular:
- Assemble every product according to its instructions and tighten all hardware before first use.
- Do not exceed the rated capacity stated on the product page, and remember that rated capacity for a bench or bar includes your own body weight plus anything you carry.
- Inspect equipment before each session — especially resistance bands, straps, anchors and doorway bars, where a hidden nick or a compromised door frame is the usual cause of failure.
- Make sure any doorway or wall-mounted product is fitted to a sound structure. If you rent, check what your lease permits before drilling.
- Keep children and pets clear of equipment in use, and store it where it cannot fall.
- If you have a medical condition, an injury, or you are new to exercise, speak to a qualified professional before starting a new routine.
Nothing on this site is medical advice. We do not claim that any product treats, prevents or cures any condition, and we publish no calorie or performance figures.
Disclaimer
We want to be straightforward about this rather than bury it. We do not offer a product warranty. What we offer instead is the 30-day return described above, which we honor without argument, plus the rights your own consumer law gives you.
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS AND IN OUR RETURNS POLICY, THE SITE AND THE PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, AND TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY PRODUCT WILL MEET A PARTICULAR TRAINING GOAL.
This paragraph does not take away rights you cannot sign away. Some US states and Canadian provinces do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or statutory consumer conditions, so parts of the paragraph above may simply not apply to you — and where that is so, the law wins and this clause is read as narrowly as necessary to leave your rights intact. Our 30-day return stands in every case.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost earnings or losses caused by a delivery delay outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms, used the site unlawfully, or submitted content you had no right to submit, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result. We will tell you promptly about any such claim, let you take part in defending it, and not settle it without asking you first. This does not apply to anything that is our fault rather than yours.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another site — a manufacturer, a standards body, a payment or privacy page — we do so because it is useful, not because we control it. We are not responsible for other people’s content, products or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Once you leave home-gym-shop.com, that site’s terms and privacy policy apply, not ours.
Our content
The text, guides, photography, logo and page designs on home-gym-shop.com are our property or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You are welcome to quote a short extract with a link back; please do not republish whole pages, reuse our photography, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, email support@home-gym-shop.com with the work concerned, where it appears here, your contact details, and a statement that you hold the rights — we will investigate promptly and remove anything we should not be publishing.
Electronic communications
We run on email. By ordering or creating an account you agree that we can send you the notices connected to your order — confirmations, dispatch and tracking, refunds, changes to these terms — electronically, and that they count as being in writing. Marketing email is separate and always opt-in; see our Privacy Policy. Please keep an eye on the address you gave us, including its spam folder, and tell us if it changes.
Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account, or decline to serve someone, where there is fraud, repeated abuse of our returns policy, abuse of our staff, or a serious breach of these terms. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first. Closing an account does not affect an order already dispatched, your right to return it, or any refund you are owed.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for failing to do something we promised where the cause is genuinely outside our control — carrier failure, customs action, extreme weather, industrial action, power or network outages, or government restrictions. If that happens we will tell you as soon as we can and work out the options with you. If it means your order cannot be delivered in a reasonable time, you can cancel it for a full refund.
If something goes wrong
Talk to us first. Email support@home-gym-shop.com with your order number and what happened. Nearly everything is solved this way, quickly, by a person. We ask that you give us 30 days to put a problem right before starting formal proceedings, and we will do the same for you.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. If you shop from the United States, any mandatory consumer protections of your home state that cannot be waived still apply to you, and nothing here stops you bringing a claim in a small-claims court where you live. We do not require you to give up a jury trial and we do not require arbitration.
The rest of the legal wiring
- If part of this fails, the rest stands. If a court finds any clause unenforceable, that clause is trimmed to the minimum needed to make it valid, or removed, and everything else continues to apply.
- These terms, plus the policies they link to — Shipping, Returns, Privacy and Cookie — are the whole agreement between us about your use of the site and your order. They replace anything said earlier.
- Not enforcing something is not giving it up. If we do not insist on a right straight away, we can still insist on it later.
- We may transfer our rights and obligations to another business, for example if the store is sold; your rights under these terms are unaffected. You may not transfer yours without asking us.
- Nobody else can enforce these terms. They are between you and us.
